Replace Missing Teeth

Dental Implants

A dental implant replaces the root portion of a missing tooth and can support a crown, bridge, or denture. Implant treatment is planned around bone, gum health, bite, medical history, and the type of final restoration needed.

ImplantThe implant fixture is placed in the jawbone and serves as the foundation for the replacement tooth.
AbutmentThe connecting component links the implant below the gumline to the visible restoration above it.
RestorationA crown, bridge, or denture is designed to restore appearance and function once the implant is ready to support it.

A Typical Implant Process

1. Evaluation & PlanningWe evaluate the missing-tooth area, gum health, bite, bone, medical factors, and the desired final restoration.
2. Implant Placement & HealingThe implant is placed into the jawbone. Healing time varies while the bone integrates around the implant.
3. Final RestorationAfter the implant is ready, the final crown, bridge, or implant-supported prosthesis is designed and attached.

Who May Need Additional Preparation?

Some patients need treatment for active gum disease, extraction-site healing, bone grafting, or other preparation before implant placement. Not having ideal bone at the first visit does not automatically rule implants out.

One Tooth, Several Teeth, or More

Implants can support a single crown, an implant-supported bridge, or selected removable or fixed full-arch solutions. The number of implants needed is not necessarily the same as the number of missing teeth.

Long-Term Implant Care

Daily CleaningImplants and their restorations still accumulate plaque and require consistent brushing and cleaning around the gumline.
Healthy GumsInflammation around an implant can threaten the supporting tissues, so periodontal health and maintenance matter.
Regular MonitoringRoutine exams allow us to monitor the restoration, bite, surrounding gum tissues, and implant-supporting bone over time.

Find Out Whether Implants Fit Your Situation

We can compare implants with bridges, removable options, and other restorative approaches based on the number of missing teeth, bone, gums, function, and your priorities.
