A Different Kind of Comfort

Comfort Comes in Many Forms

Dental visits can feel stressful for some patients. At Peosta Dental, we want every person who walks through our doors to feel welcome, heard, and supported. That is where Kobe comes in.

Kobe is our friendly one-year-old black Goldendoodle, described by our practice as hypo-allergenic, and an important patient comfort companion. He loves greeting patients, offering high-fives and hugs, and simply being nearby when a little extra reassurance would help. His calm, affectionate personality makes him a special part of the Peosta Dental experience for children and adults alike. Individual allergy sensitivities can vary, so please let our team know if you have any concerns about being around dogs.

Professionally trained by Tory Topping at Stone Hollow in Cascade, Iowa, Kobe is comfortable around people and enjoys helping our office feel a little less clinical and a lot more welcoming.

Why Kobe Is Here

How a Therapy Dog Can Help

Kobe does not replace dental care or clinical treatment. He is simply one more comfort option for patients who enjoy having a friendly four-legged companion nearby.

Research continues to suggest that therapy dogs can have a meaningful role in healthcare settings, including dental offices. For some people, simply petting or spending time with a friendly therapy dog may help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Studies have also reported improvements in certain physical signs of anxiety, including elevated blood pressure, during dental visits.

Look Forward to Returning

For many patients, seeing Kobe becomes a favorite part of coming to Peosta Dental.

For children, Kobe can help turn an unfamiliar dental appointment into a more positive and comfortable experience. For adults, his calm presence can offer reassurance that makes treatment feel less intimidating and helps keep the focus on oral health instead of dental anxiety.

Always Your Choice

Your Comfort and Preferences Come First

Every patient is different, and spending time with Kobe is always optional. Some patients enjoy visiting with him in the reception area, while others prefer a quick hello before treatment. Depending on the appointment, he may also be available during an appropriate portion of the visit.

I'd Like to Visit With Kobe

Let our team know when scheduling or checking in. We will do our best to coordinate a visit when appropriate.

I Prefer a Dog-Free Visit

Just tell us. We will gladly have Kobe stay up front behind the front desk and separated from your visit so you can enjoy your appointment comfortably.

If you have allergies, personal preferences, or any other concern about being around dogs, please let us know. Your comfort comes first.

Part of a Bigger Commitment

More Than a Friendly Face

At Peosta Dental, we believe exceptional dentistry is about caring for the whole person, not just their teeth.

At Peosta Dental, patient comfort is about more than one amenity. It means thoughtful communication, gentle treatment, modern dental technology, a welcoming team, and an environment designed to help patients feel at ease.

Kobe is one more way we bring that philosophy to life. His wagging tail and friendly personality remind us that sometimes a small moment of connection can completely change how a dental visit feels.

Many patients tell us that seeing Kobe is one of their favorite parts of visiting our office. His playful personality, calm presence, and unconditional affection can help make the dental office feel more familiar and welcoming.

Whether you come to see Kobe or prefer your appointment without him, our goal is the same: to make sure you feel respected, comfortable, and cared for from the moment you arrive.
