What to Expect

Your First Appointment Is About Understanding You

We start with your history and the reason for your visit. Depending on your needs and available previous records, your appointment may include digital X-rays, photographs, periodontal evaluation, a comprehensive dental exam, and discussion of any symptoms or cosmetic goals.

If treatment is recommended, we will explain the options, priorities, expected sequence, and financial considerations before you decide how to move forward.

Bring With You

A Few Things Help the Visit Go Smoothly

Photo identification and your current dental insurance information, if applicable.
A current medication list and relevant medical history.
Recent dental records or X-rays if another office has provided them to you.
Questions, concerns, sensitivity, dental anxiety, or goals you want us to know about.
Comfort Matters

Dental Care Built Around Real People

Tell Us What Makes Visits DifficultIf you have dental anxiety, a sensitive gag reflex, past negative experiences, difficulty getting numb, or another concern, tell us before treatment starts so we can plan around it.
Questions Are WelcomeWe would rather explain a recommendation clearly than have you leave unsure why something was suggested. Treatment decisions should make sense to you.
Care Is IndividualizedRecall timing, X-rays, cleanings, and treatment are based on your oral health and risk—not a one-size-fits-all schedule.
Financial Information

Know the Financial Side Before Treatment Begins

Dental treatment costs vary by diagnosis and treatment plan. Our team can review estimates, available insurance information, and payment options with you before planned care begins.

Insurance GuidanceWe can help you understand the information available from your dental plan and assist with claim submission. Final benefits are determined by your insurer.
Treatment EstimatesWhen treatment is recommended, we can review the expected fees and help you understand what is planned before you move forward.
No Dental Insurance?Peosta Dental also offers a dental membership plan for patients who want a straightforward alternative to traditional dental insurance.
