The iTero intraoral scanner captures a detailed digital model of your teeth and bite using a handheld scanning wand. The result can be viewed on screen and used for selected restorative, orthodontic, and Invisalign treatment workflows.
Instead of filling a tray with impression material, the scanner records the surfaces of the teeth and soft tissues and builds a 3D digital model as the scan progresses.
The model appears on screen during the appointment, making it easier to discuss tooth position, bite relationships, wear, treatment planning, and what the next step is intended to accomplish.
An intraoral scan records the visible 3D surfaces of teeth and gums. It does not replace dental X-rays, which show roots, bone, and structures that are not visible on the surface.
Digital scanning can avoid impression material for many workflows and allows the operator to review the scan immediately and rescan a small area when additional detail is needed.
The value of iTero is not simply replacing impression material. It creates a digital record that can move directly into planning, aligner, restorative, or laboratory workflows when clinically appropriate.
Whether you are discussing Invisalign, a restoration, or another digital workflow, we can show you how the scan is being used and what happens next.
